Rafael can lay claim to being a Capitalino, having been born in Mexico City, but was raised in Mexico’s high-tech mountainous capital, Monterrey. A traveler at heart, Rafa, as his friends call him, lived in Lausanne, Switzerland and Cannes, France before doing an exchange-abroad program during his bachelor’s program. He chose Poland to be different from his friends and to accelerate his English skills for a year, but met his future wife there and after a short return to Mexico, he returned to Poland where he married, obtained his Master’s Degree, and started working in banking at BNP PARIBAS, a wise choice as his wife still works in auditing for a New York-based firm.

Having lived so long in Europe and loving that European lifestyle, Rafa and his wife chose San Miguel de Allende as their destination to settle down and start a family since it most closely replicated that European sensibility they were accustomed to and provided the weather, walkability and altitude they were seeking. However, “settled” hardly describes Rafa as he has visited 20 countries to date and has a lifelong goal to visit a different country each year, with Asia and Africa being near-future destinations. Rafa’s a sports fan (soccer, rugby, basketball) and always plans outdoor activities like hiking and camping in every country he visits, as long as it also includes some fine dining! His extensive rental business background working with artists, actresses and chefs including six-figure rental contracts at places like The Rosewood Residences have given him the perfect background to find exactly the ideal home you’re searching for, or, market the home you need to sell – his expertise covers both!
